My profession as a young person was that of hand embroider in the long gone days of personalised table linen. My most significant commission was for the late Queen Mary to whom I was presented but not permitted to speak directly.
Later in life, whilst recovering from a major operation, I was presented with some oil points and brushes to help pass the time. The medium is entirely different to embroidery, but the construction of an image through the use of colour is not so dissimilar. So with no formal training, I took up oil painting. The landscape is my enduring inspiration.
