Overwater, Nenthead From Alston, follow the B6722 towards Middleton-in-Teesdale for six miles. High Ashgill is a long white building with a small wind turbine on the gable, opposite a forest. Park on the roadside verge, or if disabled descend the steep drive.

My work is based on the North Pennines landscape around my studio, right at the edge of Eden, and with occasional references to Argyll. I try to show the relationships between humankind, the natural environment, time and weather. Although I paint mostly in oils, I use any media I can, from natural grounds and pigments to acrylics. I also enjoy incorporating reclaimed materials into my paintings, and seeking to expand my media to include lime, clay, timber and raw pigment in my MA studies.
