Towngate Barn, Blease Road, Threlkeld, Keswick,
Effects of light and water, fleeting moments which bring a sense of magic to an otherwise 'ordinary' scene. Reflections, the sky, water, movement of currents and the weather, all these things inspire me. I often try to recreate a “sense” of a moment or place, rather than a perfect copy of it. Twinkling, atmospheric, rippling, moving, and ephemeral these are paintings which I hope will inspire. Fresh colours and a painterly approach characterise my work. Recently I have been painting a series of pictures based on the shoreline of Derwent Water, also the sea, which I return to again and again.
