My love of mountains began when, aged about six, I was first taken up Helvellyn and I first experienced that exhilarating condition - fear. I grew to understand and respect mountains and lost my fear.
As an artist I am never happier than when alone in the high mountains with my mountain tent looking for ideas: hunting as I call it. I am fortunate to have been able to make a living out of that passion.
